EIC(LOCAL) - ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: CLASS RANKING
The valedictorian, salutatorian, honor students, and the state of Texas highest ranking senior shall be selected from those students attending the District high school for all four years and participating in and completing all courses approved for the Advanced/Distinguished Achievement Program. Students graduating from the District in less than four years shall not be eligible for valedictorian, salutatorian, or the state of Texas highest ranking senior award. Class ranking shall begin with students completing the Advanced/Distinguished Achievement Program, followed by the Recommended Program, followed by the Minimum Program.
Grades earned in physical education, athletics, band, theater arts, and local credit courses shall not be used for determining the four-year average for honor students. Students completing all four years at the District high school and completing all courses under the Advanced/Distinguished Achievement Program shall be recognized as honor graduates. Students not completing all four years at the District high school who complete the Advanced/Distinguished Achievement Program shall be recognized as "honorary" honor graduates.
