Class Ranking

Class rankings shall be calculated for the first time at the end of the sophomore year. Final rank in class for purpose of determining valedictorian and salutatorian shall be calculated at the end of the third nine-week grading period of the senior year.

All grades determining honor students shall have been earned in the District or shall have been transferred from an accredited school. If no letter-grade conversion is recommended by the transferring school, our local conversion figures shall be used.

Valedictorian and Salutatorian

The valedictorian and salutatorian shall be the highest-ranking and next highest-ranking student in the graduating class. To be considered for either of the top two honors, a student shall have taken one mathematics course above Algebra II and a year of science above chemistry. Also, the valedictorian and salutatorian shall have attended school in the District for at least the last two of their four high school years.

Early Graduates

A person graduating early shall not be eligible to be ranked with the senior class, therefore, they shall not be eligible to be valedictorian or salutatorian.
