FMB(LOCAL) - STUDENT ACTIVITIES: STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Student leaders shall be elected in each school to coordinate the various activities carried out under the auspices of the school. These students shall have opportunities to develop pride, leadership and teamwork skills, and they shall gain firsthand experience in the American democratic process.
The democratic elective process shall provide practical citizenship experience for all students.
The principal shall establish an election process with faculty input. The candidates on the ballot shall be representative of the major ethnic groups within the school's student body.
Disqualification from Any Student Organization
At the time of selection and during the time of service, the student must meet all eligibility requirements for participation in extracurricular activities. [See FM(LEGAL)]
After a fair and impartial hearing, a student may be disqualified from membership by the principal if, after selection or during the time of membership, the student:
Fails to comply with school rules and regulations;
Shows a lack of cooperation with other members in the organization and/or the director;
Undergoes a disciplinary removal from campus; or
Shows a lack of interest in fulfilling duties of the office or membership.
This policy shall be effective as of the adoption date, April 26, 2010.
