New Campus Colors, Mascots, and Mottos
The principal of a new campus will consult with the athletic director regarding school colors, mascots, and mottos used by other campuses and will request nominations for the new campus from future students and parents. Color combinations, mascots, and mottos from other campuses will not be included as possible options. However, shades of colors that are different from those used by other campuses may be used. The nominations will be reviewed by the principal and PTA/PTSA president for selection of three to four nominations to be placed on a ballot. All students who are expected to attend the new campus will be provided the opportunity to cast a ballot for their choices. The principal and the PTA/PTSA president will count the ballots and notify the students of the selections. The selections will be posted on the campus Web site.
The school's band director, music teacher or choral director and a student representative will prepare two to three options for the school song. The options will be available for two weeks prior to the selection of the new school song. All students who are expected to attend the new campus will be given the opportunity to vote for their choice. The principal and the PTA/PTSA president will count the votes and notify the students of the selection. The new school song will be posted on the campus Web site.
