Emergency Use Exception
In case of emergencies or disasters, the Superintendent or designee may authorize the use of District vehicles by civil defense, health, or emergency service authorities.

[See GKD regarding nonschool use of school facilities]
The District may permit public recognition of business donors to the Alamo Heights School Foundation (AHSF) on school buses in accordance with rules adopted by the Texas Department of Public Safety. [See also CNB(LEGAL)]
Although the District may allow the AHSF the opportunity to publicly recognize business donors, the District shall retain the final authority to accept or reject potential businesses/donors and proposed recognitions in a manner consistent with the First Amendment, Board policy, and the District's mission, goals, and standards. Acceptance of such public recognition in District publications or on District property, including school buses, shall not constitute approval or endorsement of an issue, product, organization, activity, or position. Further, no public recognition shall be allowed for businesses, organizations, or donors that promote or are readily associated with a political candidate, political party or agenda, a religion or religious agenda, or such things as alcohol, tobacco, firearms, pornography, or anything else deemed to be inappropriate for children or that fail to meet District standards according to the Board.
The Board has the authority to terminate such public recognition on school buses at any time. Public recognition efforts must receive prior approval from the Superintendent or designee. Further, the AHSF shall be responsible for any damage that may be caused to school buses or school property as a result of bus advertising.
