EHDA(LOCAL) - ALTERNATIVE METHODS FOR EARNING CREDIT: SUMMER SCHOOL
A summer school program may be operated for secondary school students subject to the following conditions:
Standards set by TEA must be met.
Grades and courses in which instruction is offered are to be determined by the high school principal.
In determining offerings, the availability of a qualified instructor and the number of students enrolled shall be considered.
Nonresident students shall be accepted subject to space available within enrollment limitations.
Standards for summer school courses shall be the same as those for the regular session.
Any course taken in summer school must have prior approval of the student's counselor.
Summer at Heights
A summer school may be operated for noncredit enrichment courses and extended instruction subject to Board approval each year.
Tuition for secondary summer school and Summer at Heights shall be set by the Board to cover costs, including salaries, supplies, and utilities.
