FM(LOCAL) - STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Extracurricular Activity Absences
The District shall make no distinction between absences for UIL activities and absences for other extracurricular activities approved by the Board. A student shall be allowed in a school year a maximum of ten extracurricular absences not related to post-district competition, a maximum of five absences for post-district competition prior to state, and a maximum of two absences for state competition.

Use of District Facilities
School-sponsored student groups may use District facilities with prior approval of the appropriate administrator. Other student groups may use District facilities in accordance with policy FNAB.
Use of Judges by School Organizations
The following provisions shall apply to all school organizations using judges to select members, such as majorettes, flags, rifles, cheerleaders, and the like:
There shall be three judges knowledgeable in the area to be judged.
Other organizations may use local judges.
Judges shall be selected by the sponsor and principal.
The tryouts shall be closed to everyone except the sponsor and school personnel as needed or student help as determined by the sponsor.
No other contestant shall be in the tryout area while a tryout is in progress except during the group routines.
The sponsor shall be present in the tryout area.
Judging shall be on criteria for specific needs of skills required by the organization conducting the tryouts.
Organized practices shall be conducted prior to the tryouts, and the judging criteria shall be made available to contestants prior to the tryouts. Video cameras shall not be permitted during practices or tryouts.
The District shall pay expenses and fees for the judges.
