Legislative and Appraisal Functions
In addition to the powers and duties imposed by statute, the Board shall be the legal instrument through which the legislative and appraisal functions are exercised. The Board shall be a deliberative body operating in the best interest of the students of the District, based upon the best available evidence.
The executive function shall be delegated to the Superintendent, who shall be charged with the responsibility of exercising efficiently the educational policies of the Board. The Board shall require the Superintendent to keep them completely and constantly informed of the state of the District and the levels of instructional efficiency.
The Board shall employ an internal auditor who shall report functionally to the Board and administratively to the Superintendent. The Board shall meet regularly with the chief internal auditor.
