FMH(LOCAL) - STUDENT ACTIVITIES: COMMENCEMENT
A student who has satisfactorily completed all coursework requirements for graduation but has failed to meet applicable state testing requirements shall be allowed to participate in commencement activities and ceremonies upon compliance with remediation and retesting requirements outlined in this policy. Remediation and Retesting Requirements
A student who fails to meet the passing standard on any portion of a state-mandated exit-level assessment in grade 11 or on any required end-of-course (EOC) assessment, as applicable, shall enroll, attend, and participate in the remediation summer school session and the summer retest session, as well as in all applicable remediation courses, tutoring programs, and retesting opportunities until the student has met all applicable state testing requirements.
Regardless of length of enrollment, no student shall be allowed to participate in commencement activities and ceremonies without meeting the applicable coursework requirements and either:
The applicable state testing requirements; or
The remediation and retesting requirements outlined in this policy.
The principal shall have authority to approve an exception to these requirements only in accordance with an individual student's personal graduation plan. [See EIF]
