FDB(LOCAL) - ADMISSIONS: INTRADISTRICT TRANSFERS AND CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS
A student shall be assigned to a school in the attendance area in which he or she resides.
The campus principal shall be authorized to investigate and approve the transfer of a student from one classroom to another on that campus.
Transfers Between Schools
The Superintendent shall be authorized to investigate and approve transfers between schools.
The Superintendent may reassign a student from one District facility to another in order to conform to changes in attendance areas or when he or she determines a reassignment is necessary. When reassignment is being considered, the student's parent shall be notified in writing.
Children and Grandchildren of District Employees
A District employee shall be permitted to transfer his or her child (for whom the employee has legal custody) and/or grandchild from a school in the attendance area of residence to the school or attendance area where the parent and/or grandparent is employed, provided space is available. The parent and/or grandparent shall be responsible for transportation.
The grandparent and his or her grandchild must both reside in the District.
