FM(LOCAL) - STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Schedule of Activities
All activities shall be cleared through the principal's or Superintendent's office before being scheduled. All school activities must be on the official school calendar.
Unless approval is given by the administration, no programs, practices, or activities shall be held on Sunday.
Activities During Examinations
The Board intends that students have the maximum amount of time to study for semester examinations.
To maximize this time, the following guidelines shall be followed:
- Within the appropriate time frame for study prior to examinations, students shall be dismissed from all activities no later than 6:30 p.m.
- Non-District UIL activities shall not be scheduled for the evening prior to a semester examination; if so scheduled, the activity shall be cancelled.
- Extracurricular activities may be scheduled on an evening after semester examinations have been completed.
Use of District Facilities
School-sponsored student groups may use District facilities with prior approval of the appropriate administrator. Other student groups may use District facilities in accordance with policy FNAB.
Extracurricular Activity Absences
The District shall make no distinction between absences for UIL activities and absences for other extracurricular activities approved by the Board.
The District shall not limit an eligible student's absences related to participation in extracurricular activities.
