Extracurricular Activity Absences in a School Year

The District shall make no distinction between absences for UIL activities and absences for other extracurricular activities approved by the Board. A student shall be allowed ten extracurricular absences not related to post-district competition, five absences for post-district competition prior to state, and two absences for state competition.

Additional absences, to a maximum of five, shall be permitted when a student has a grade point average of at least 85 in the courses or subjects to be missed based on the previous three-week grade check.

Advanced Courses

The District considers college coursework, dual credit courses, and advanced placement courses to be advanced courses. A student who receives a grade lower than a 70 in an advanced course is exempt from suspension from extracurricular activities.

Use of District Facilities

School-sponsored student groups may use District facilities with prior approval of the appropriate administrator. Other student groups may use District facilities in accordance with policy FNAB.
